| Abstract |
The relationship between the toxicity and composition of halogenated toluene derivatives: WC6H4CXYZ (X,Y,Z = H,Cl,F and W = H,Cl) was studied by quantum-chemical methods. There was a relation between the electron donor ability of molecules and their toxicity. The relation permits interpretation of available data and prediction of the toxicity of non-studied compounds of this range. Predicted safe levels for 4 compounds not studied experimentally, C6H5CCl2F, C6H5CClF2, ClC6H4CH2Cl and ClC6H4CCl2F are 2, 13, 0.5 and 0.5mg/m3, respectively. |
