The Committee notes the observations of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions (BKDP), received on 31 August 2024.
Articles 4, 5 and 6(2) of the Convention. Consultations with social partners. The Committee notes the BKDP’s observations regarding the lack of proper consultation with representatives of employees, as provided for by Articles 4, 5 and 6(2) of the Convention. The BKDP further indicates that all Belarusian independent trade unions, including the BKDP, were unlawfully liquidated, and the Government intentionally engages only with pro-government trade unions. The Committee requests the Government to provide information in this respect.
Article 6. Programmes of action. The Committee notes that, according to the BKDP, the National Action Plan for the Improvement of the Situation of Children and the Protection of Their Rights for 2022–2026 does not contain provisions concerning the implementation of the Convention or child labour. The Committee requests the Government to provide information on the application of Article 6 of the Convention.
