Articles 1–6 of the Convention. Issuance of seafarers’ identity documents. In reply to the Committee’s previous comment regarding the inexistence of regulations adopted pursuant to section 121 of the Ghana Shipping Act, 2003 (Act No. 645) to implement the provisions of the Convention, the Government indicates that action in this regard would be on hold until the adoption of new legislation. The Committee also notes that, while the Government indicates that it attaches a specimen of the seafarers’ identity document, such document has not been received by the Office. The Committee therefore urges the Government to adopt the necessary measures to give effect to the Convention and to provide a specimen of the seafarers’ identity document.
