Article 12 of the Convention. Payment of wages at regular intervals. The wage arrears situation. The Committee notes that in response to its previous comments, on the wage arrears situation, the Government indicates that: (i) workers can easily access labour dispute settlement authorities in all Departments of Cooperatives, Labour and Social welfare throughout the country to address wage-related issues, as per section 157 of the Labour Law; and (ii) if workers do not wish to file a complaint under section 157 from fear of retaliation by the employer, they can request an inspection for non-compliance, including with relation to unpaid wages. The Committee requests the Government to take the necessary measures to ensure that wages are paid at regular intervals. It also requests the Government to provide information on how the means of redress available to workers in the event of delays in the payment of wages are used in practice. In this respect, it requests the Government to provide specific information and statistics on: (i) labour disputes which relate to any cases of non-payment or irregular payment of wages; and (ii) findings of the labour inspectorate with regard to the protection of wages, including the number of fines imposed and complaints received.
