Part-Time Work Convention, 1994 (No. 175) - Sudan (Ratification: 2019)

Articles 1 to 10 of the Convention. Protection for part-time workers. Further to its previous comments, the Committee notes that in its report, the Government indicates that the new draft labour law for the year 2021 amending the Labour Law of 1997, which included provisions to protect part-time workers, has not yet been approved due to the prevailing conditions in the country. The Government also indicates that, despite difficult circumstances, it is intended to reexamine the draft new labour law and to revise the Pensions and Insurance Law. In this context, the Committee requests the Government to provide information on the measures taken or envisaged, including the adoption of new relevant legislation, in order to give full effect to the Convention. The Committee requests the Government to provide information on any progress achieved in this regard.
