The Committee notes the observations made by the Greek General Confederation of Labour (GSEE), received on 29 August 2024, and the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), received on 1 September 2024 and on 26 August 2025 respectively.
Article 3 of the Convention. Consultations with the social partners. The Committee notes that the Ministry of Labour and Social Security has communicated this report to the most representative employers’ and workers’ organizations. It further notes that, despite its previous request, the Government did not provide information on consultations regarding the statistics of occupational accidents and diseases (Article 14 of the Convention), nor on the design or revision of concepts, definitions, and methodologies used in the collection and publication of such statistics. In this regard, the Committee takes note of the observations made by SEV, which emphasize the need to redesign and, if necessary, revise the concepts, definitions, and methodology used to collect, compile, and publish timely and reliable statistics, so that they can be utilized in real time and made available to strengthen collective bargaining. The Committee hopes that such consultations with the social partners will take place in the near future and requests the Government to provide information on these consultations with respect to designing or revising the concepts, definitions and methodology used in collecting, compiling and publishing statistics covered by the Convention.
Article 9(2) of the Convention. Current statistics of average earnings and hours of work. Statistics of time rates of wages and normal hours of work. The Committee notes the Government’s indication that the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) compiles and publishes statistics on average earnings and hours of work (Article 9(1) of the Convention) in accordance with EU legislation, including Regulation (EU) 2019/1700 and its implementing acts. These statistics are based on the Labour Force Survey (LFS), with the latest available data from 2024. The Committee also notes that no new statistics have been received in relation to statistics of time rates of wages and normal hours of work (Article 9(2) of the Convention). It observes that the SEV requests that data relative to the establishment of a new wage index be compiled and made publicly available. The Committee reiterates its previous Direct request and once again asks the Government to provide information on measures taken or envisaged regarding the compilation of statistics on time rates of wages and normal hours of work by occupation or branch of economic activity.
