Summary / Citation: It is prohibited to arrange for female staff and workers during the period of breast-feeding their babies of less than one year old to engage in work with Grade III physical labour intensity as prescribed by the State or other labour forbidden to women during their breast-feeding period, or to work in extended working hours or to work night shifts.

Employers shall grant women employees with less than one year infant feeding breaks of 1 hour counted as an working hour every day. Feeding breaks of women workers who have given birth to more than one child shall be extended by one hour for each additional baby born in a single birth.

Employers employing a relatively large number of women workers shall, establish facilities such as women workers’ resting lounge, a resting lounge for pregnant women, a feeding room, and other facilities to properly alleviate the special difficulties encountered by their women workers in physiological, health, feeding an child-care aspects.

An employing unit shall not assign female employees in lactation to engage in the operations in which toxic substances are used.
