(From the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology)
With reference to your email regarding the abandonment case of the vessel M/V Yekta 110 (IMO No. 9073567), we would like to inform you that, following the receipt of a complaint from one of the seafarers, the vessel was inspected at Khasab Port on 3 June 2026.
During the visit, our inspectors met with the crew members and verified the reported complaints. Following the inspection, the vessel was detained under the Riyadh Memorandum of Understanding (Riyadh MoU) based on the deficiencies identified by the Port State Control Officers. Please find the Port State Control inspection report attached for your reference.
However, shortly after the vessel was detained, it was observed that the vessel had unlawfully departed from Khasab Port and left the territorial waters of the Sultanate of Oman. This constitutes a serious violation, as the vessel was under official detention at the time of its departure.
Accordingly, due to the vessel's unauthorized escape from Omani territorial waters, the Maritime Authority was unable to proceed further with the case.
